It is becoming increasingly critical for coaches to hold themselves accountable to our training, our competencies, and our clients. When we step into coach position are we doing it with authenticity and sincerity? In this interactive session, participants will have the opportunity to compare meaningful coaching conversations to inconsequential chats.

Objectives: By the end of this session, as participants, you will be able to:

  1. Refine your thinking around Meaningful vs Inconsequential coaching presence
  2. Understand trauma informed coaching practices
  3. Make sense of your resources for self-awareness and integrate meaningful examples for competency enhancement

This session will include:

  • An example of Trauma Informed Coaching to inform coaching presence during times of crisis
  • Examples of powerful questions to get the core of client intention and recognizing what signs may show up that tell us we need to refer the client to a path of therapy
  • sharing some real case scenarios so as to encourage us to learn from one another
  • a demonstration on how to support our clients and be of service to them when they are feeling overwhelmed

Laurie forged her coaching skills during a distinguished career in the financial services industry. After being mentored by her father at his investment firm, she grew into sales and management roles before following her passion into the world of coaching in 2015. Today she offers solution-based coaching to clients throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.

Prior to opening her boutique private coaching practice, Laurie developed a reputation for performance and achievement in positions with firms such as RBC investments, Sunlife, the Co-operators and Servus. Along the way she garnered a number of awards including Financial Planner of the Year, Highest External Sales, Quick Start Achiever, and Western Region Builder. During her tenure in the Financial Services sector, she completed the PFP (Personal Financial Planner), the EPC (Elder Planning Certificate) and PCC (Professional Certified Coach)  designations.

Laurie focuses her high-energy executive coaching sessions to achieve substantial improvements in the areas of productivity, leadership skills, staff management, and communication. In team coaching sessions, she utilizes behavioral analysis to enable team members to better understand their colleagues, in the goal of working together more harmoniously.

Laurie is an energetic, contributing member to her community in the Edmonton area, along with her husband Dave. Avid fans of both football and hockey, they also enjoy watching curling and playing golf. She holds the position of Vice President for her local Business Ladies Golf League, is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, and is known for her passion for gardening.

As a certified coach Pauline works with individuals, corporate leaders, physicians and other professionals who want to be at their best so they can enhance their performance, creating balance, wellness and finding a path forward. As a member or associate of nearly a dozen professional organizations; change and human behaviour are a constant focus in her business and personal pursuits.

As Director and Accredited Trainer for Melnyk Consultancy Ltd she utilizes tools and approaches in coaching formed from positive psychology and action learning. Pauline is also a Certified Workplace Fairness Analyst who restores wellness in the capacity of teams and leaders overcoming resistance to change with a focus on engagement, equity, diversity and inclusion. She is a Leader and Practitioner of Group Coaching in Change, Career and Education Navigation, Trilotherapy, Mindfulness, Regenerative Leadership and Action Learning. It all starts with an understanding that our resilience, happiness and well-being fuel our positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning and achievement for performance and success.

Laurie and Pauline will offer real-life scenarios and demonstrations to help build a stronger understanding of how to support clients and be of service to them.
